Keyword Resources

  • Wordtracker
This is the ultimate tool when it comes to keyword research offering statistics on real searches and very specific, relevant keyword and key phrase data.   A free trial is available for those starting out, after that there is a monthly service fee.
  • Google Keyword Tool
Google provides a free keyword research tool that is tied into their Google Adwords Advertising Program.   It is free to use, but the information available is not extremely in depth.
  • Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool
A handy tool for brainstorming keywords, however this program is limited by Yahoo search results data as well as may be influenced by some of Yahoo’s business partnerships.
  • Keyword Discovery
This great tool offers a huge database of keywords, plus a breakdown by ebay searches and seasonal data for those of you considering a seasonal niche (like weddings or tax preparation services).   This is a subscription based service, with a free trial available like Wordtracker, but it offers more data and tools.
